Our Stories Matter
This map encourages people to share their mental health stories to help increase mental health-related discourse and make mental health more visible. We want to let people know that no matter how young or old, how rich or poor, or WHEREever they are, they are not alone in their battles.
MAPPING our EMOTIONS can show that mental health occupies space and it matters. Through increased visibility, we can help fight the stigma and show the general public and policy-makers that mental health problems are more prevalent than they appear.

We’re here to listen.
This map is for those who would be willing to listen to someone who is fighting a mental health battle and needs a friend. Anyone who is willing to listen may add their information here.
Who knows? Someone might see and say, “Oh, there’s someone near me who could understand what I’m going through…”

How to add points on these maps
1. Access the Mapping Emotions and Hear; Here maps on the links above. Click the pins on the maps to read the stories or to see who you could talk to about what you’re going through near you. To add data, click the button that says “Know that you’re not alone” (for Mapping Emotions) or “Or talk to someone.” (for Hear; Here).
2. Upon clicking these buttons, a pin icon will appear on the left side of the map, under the ‘show my location’ button.
3. Click the“Show my location” button to zoom in on your current location. Allow access your location through the prompt to allow the map to zoom in on where you currently are. Afterwards, you may then drag the pin on your location and add your nickname and story/how you may be reached.
4. You may also search for a location (preferably the city/town) using the search button.
5. You may then add your story, or your details, after dragging the pin icon on the location on the map. Don’t worry! The maps are designed to not show streets/exact addresses. 🙂 However, only share the contact details you’re comfortable sharing publicly (i.e., social media accounts, secondary mobile number, email, etc.)
